Sometimes it’s the smallest tweaks that make the biggest difference
It often starts with something simple. A quick update. A small change. A “while we’re at it” moment.
That is exactly how this project began when Karon from Key HR Solutions got in touch. All she needed was a phone number update on her leaflet.
A straightforward job. But instead of stopping there, we asked a better question. How could this leaflet work harder for her business?
Turning a simple leaflet into a powerful tool
With a few thoughtful changes, we transformed the leaflet into something far more effective.
We simplified the language so it felt clear, approachable and easy to read. No jargon, no confusion, just straightforward messaging that speaks directly to the reader.
We added a QR code, making it effortless for people to take the next step. No friction, just a quick scan and instant access.
We included a photo of Karon, because people connect with people. And when you have a smile like hers, it makes sense to lead with it.
We featured a client testimonial to build immediate trust. Social proof is powerful, especially when someone is deciding whether to get in touch.
And we added a short, helpful update on employment law. Something genuinely useful that positions Karon as knowledgeable, relevant and supportive.
The result
What started as a small update became something much more impactful. A leaflet that does not just sit there. A leaflet that attracts attention, informs clearly and builds confidence. A leaflet that is ready to bring in new customers.
All from a few well considered tweaks.

A quick turnaround, and a smarter approach
Around the same time, I was working with the Wessex Flock. They needed something quickly for an upcoming farmers market, and within three days, we had written, designed and printed a brand new leaflet ready to go.
Before this, they had been handing out clothing tags, each costing around £1 per material.
The new leaflets? Around 1p each.
A huge difference in cost, and a much more effective way to share their story, products and contact details in one place. And most importantly, something they felt proud to hand out.

It is not always about starting again
When marketing materials feel outdated or underwhelming, the instinct is often to think you need a full redesign. But more often than not, you do not. What you need is clarity, and a fresh perspective.
And a few smart changes that help your content do its job properly.
