When your website finally feels like you
Your website is often the first impression someone has of your business. It needs to be clear, welcoming and professional, but just as importantly, it needs to feel human. For many business owners, that balance is harder to strike than it sounds.
Marc from Marc M Bookkeeping came to me when he needed professional writing and design support for his bookkeeping website in Southampton. He already had a draft, but it did not quite reflect who he was or how he worked with his clients, both in the UK, and in France.
Turning words into connection
From the very beginning, the goal was simple. Take Marc’s initial content and shape it into something approachable, clear and easy to read, without losing his voice.
As Marc shared on his Google Review:

Good website copy should guide people effortlessly, helping them understand what you do, who you help and why they should trust you. Clarity builds confidence, and confidence leads to action.
Letting personality shine through
For Marc, it was important that his personality came through in the text. His clients always come first, and he wanted that care and commitment to be obvious the moment someone landed on his website.
That meant writing in a way that felt warm, reassuring and client focused, not corporate or generic. The aim was for visitors to feel they were already in safe hands before picking up the phone.

More than rewriting words
One of the biggest misconceptions about copywriting is that it is just about rephrasing what is already there. In reality, it is about listening, understanding and shaping a message around the people you want to reach.
Marc described it perfectly:
“Donna didn’t just rephrase my words; she delivered an exceptional, client-focused service, and the results are something I’m truly proud of.”
That pride matters. Your website should feel like something you are confident to share, not something you quietly hope people will understand.
Professional, personal and purposeful
Every project I work on is about more than design and words. It is about helping business owners feel seen, understood and supported, while creating something that works hard for them behind the scenes.
Marc’s final words meant a great deal:
“Donna’s professionalism stood out.”
Ready for a website that reflects you?
If your website no longer feels like you, or if it never quite did, it might be time for a refresh. With the right words, structure and design, your site can become a true reflection of your personality and the care you bring to your clients.
Because when people feel that connection, trust follows naturally.
